End of another Open

Its the end of another Open, Sunday is as always a quieter day, much appreciated by a tired team. This years Open has been very pleasant but with smaller crowds and less corporate entertaining than in previous years.
Now we are all looking forward to St Andrews in 2010 and the 150th Open Golf Championships which will no doubt be very busy.

Green Green Bottles

We may sell 1000's of bottles of Bollinger at the Open but we like to do our bit by recycling all our used bottles. At the end of each day they are taken to a very large bin and the boys get to make considerable noise dropping them into the container.

Frantic Friday's

Fridays are traditionally our busiest day, yesterday proved no exception. Sudden and powerful downpours cleared our gardens about 3pm and packed the tent for the next 4 hours. During this time we sold some 500 bottles of Bollinger.

First for 10 Years

We have many regular customers here in the tent but our good friends pictured here have been our first visitors to the Tent for the last 10 Years. We thank them for their custom and look forward to welcoming them back for many years to come.

How to Chill 1000's of bottles of champagne

Running the tent brings lots of challenges but sometimes the solutions are simple. In order to chill large amounts of champagne quickly, we borrow some large clean wheelie bins from the kind people at Biffa. Load them and cover in massive amounts of ice. On our busiest days they are emptied as fast as we can fill them.

Jerome Philipon the Directeur General of Champagne Bollinger made his first visit to the Open yesterday. He met the team in the tent and also some of the team from the R&A who organise this great event. Jerome also got his hands dirty helping to clear tables, chatting to guests in the tent and generally enjoying all the fun.

So impressed was Jerome he has already declared his wish to come back next year and spend the week working with us.
